A Song for a Psalm (34:19)

I went to church this morning. I haven't gone in quite a long time. But whenever I return it always seems like the universe and God (or whomever or whatever you believe in) knew I was coming. Everything seemed to resonate with more meaning and carry a heavier message. Messages that would have seemed less significant had I not forgotten about keeping my spiritual well-being alive.

At some point a while back I started sleepwalking through life. It's a plight I think we all face at times. And it's something we all have to work at because - well - life can get monotonous and routines can become just that; a repeating cycle that drones and hums and puts us all to sleep.

So I'm making a diligent effort to not fall asleep again. Writing helps. Meditation and yoga helps (I just need to start doing it!). Filling my spiritual well-being back up helps.

So, in that vein, I thought I'd go ahead and share a couple of poems I wrote this weekend. And if you're reading this and think you're asleep, I hope this helps to wake you up...
